Cog's coming to iPhone

Cheers to @anclove for this heads up about the impending release of Steampunk puzzler Cog's for the iPhone.

According to Eli Hodapp over at www.toucharcade.com:

Cogs is a game that takes unique spin on the Pipe Mania formula for the PC currently available via Steam and Direct2Drive. In the game, players move around pipes and gears to transfer either rotational or steam power from one side of the game board to the other. The twist is, instead of simple 2D game fields, Cogs has you solving puzzles on a 3D cube.

No release date as yet but check out this gameplay trailer for a tantalising taste of what's to come.

Waterstone's gets Steamier

The recent lack of posting on this blog is entirely due to a recent change of address and the lack of broadband access that came with it. While I wait for Sky to hook me up, I'm trying out this BlogPress iPhone app for intermediate postings. Seems great so far.

Ahh...the title. Well, I was killing time in Waterstone's this afternoon and, further to my recent posting on the Steampunk section I saw there last time, the store have increased their selection. I picked up Jake Lay's Mainspring, Robery Rankin's The Witches of Chiswick and an anthology of Verne inspired shorts called, unsurprisingly, The Mammoth Book of New Jules Verne Adventures. Waterstone's also had a kind laminated guide to SF and Fantasy hanging from the shelves as a buyer's guide. Inside, sandwiched between the 'Military SF' and 'Near Future / Neo-Noir' section they had information on 'Time travel, steampunk and alternate history'. Both The Anubis Gates and The Difference Engine were listed as prime examples.

And they said Steampunk was dead. Not in my local bookstore it ain't!
